About this theme
At the Bauleni Special Needs Project (BSNP), our commitment to human rights advocacy stems from the recognition that every individual possesses inherent rights that must be respected and upheld. This is particularly crucial for children with disabilities, who often face systemic barriers to accessing essential services and opportunities that others take for granted. In Zambia, disparities in education, healthcare, and social inclusion remain significant issues, especially for marginalized groups like children with special needs.
Our focus on human rights is driven by the following core beliefs:
-
Promoting Dignity: All individuals, regardless of their abilities or circumstances, deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Our advocacy efforts aim to uphold these principles by ensuring that children with disabilities are recognized and valued members of society.
-
Ensuring Equality: Children with disabilities often encounter discrimination and exclusion in various aspects of life. BSNP is dedicated to promoting equality by challenging societal stigmas and advocating for policies that create inclusive environments where all children can thrive.
-
Empowering Communities: By raising awareness about human rights, we aim to empower families and communities to advocate for their children's rights. Education and empowerment are vital for fostering social change and ensuring that individuals and families actively participate in shaping their destinies.
